Fresh air: The inclusion of an internal courtyard allowed light deep into this narrow terrace home.

We'd like a skylight towards the rear of the living room as the light levels are pretty low. If it could be kept in mind for placement of this skylight that one day we might like to go up a story so ideally we would not want to have to remove it at this point. Just a thought, if possible. I don't know if one large or a couple smaller skylights is best. We don't mind if the skylight is fixed or not.

Skylights are for overhead, out-of-reach applications where abundant natural light is required.

I just worry people will bang into where it protrudes when open as the area between studio and kitchen will be a fairly narrow space.

The NSW Australian Institute of Architects has kicked off its 2015 Architecture Awards program with the first of the regional awards announced for Newcastle.

Sliding glass doors with windows above (either awning or louvre). I suspect a sandstone feature wall is out of budget but I would LOVE one.
