Achievable Gardens at MIFGS 2013 | GardenDrum 'Coastal Wave' Design Rohan Thorn Holmesglen TAFE What a beautiful double wall, with waves of bleached grey timber creating great space-stretching layering. It was hard to believe that this garden was exactly the same size as the others and it’s a good example of how leaving a central area open does not make a tiny area look bigger
Native Australian Garden inspiration- In contrast to other parts of the garden, the planting at the front entrance is kept simple with two contrasting plants used - Salt Bush (Rhagodia spinescens) with its lovely silvery-grey against the darker grey of Coastal Rosemary (Westringa fruticosa). This simple planting is done for a reason - to highlight and focus a sculpture near the front entrance.

Tuckeroo. This is a great all round evergreen tree, with flushes of bright glowing new growth through Spring and Summer. A medium sized tree ranging between 8-15m tall at maturity it forms a dense rounded shape and offers a lovely shade solution for gardens. It is a smart selection for a range of locations including coastal exposure, tropical heat and works well as a specimen tree, wind break and street tree.
