DAY 30 of my reno tips ➡️ Decorating
So you’re at the end of your reno and now it’s time to decorate? Bet you don’t have much budget left! I hear you! Decorating on a budget is all I know. Here’s a few things you should know ⤵️
DAY 29 of my reno tips ➡️ DIY floating timber shelves
Buy some oak timber, metal rods and liquid nails from Bunnings. Mark out where you want the shelf and the studs. Cut the shelf to size and seal it. Drill out (slightly bigger) where you’ll place the rods in the wall and in the shelf. Pile a heap of liquid nails around the rod and on the back of the shelf. Slide it on, and use something (these are called Stan The Stand!) to hold them in place until the glue goes off. Done ✅
DAY 28 of my reno tips ➡️ Spray Gun
One of my first ever purchases was the spray gun. Go to my highlights to see more. It’s paid for itself over and over again. I’ve done fences, bricks, walls, kitchens, doors… If you’re thinking of renovating make sure you have the right tools and equipment before you start. I promise you it’ll save you so much time and money in the long run. I could never have imagined painting 2 houses inside and out without a spray gun! #diy #30daysofrenotips

DAY 22 of my reno tips ➡️ Paint Concrete
It’s such a simple process and anyone can do it. I scrubbed and cleaned the surface. Then put down the first coat. The second coat went down about 7 hours later and I tossed in the flakes while it was still wet. You need to do it in batches so don’t walk on the wet paint!. I waited until the next day to finish with the top clear coat. Click through for more >>
DAY 21 of my reno tips ➡️ Spray sliding doors
I’ve done this job a few times now. It’s so worth the effort and they always come up so good. It’s definitely a two person job. You’ll need to lift the door out to spray it and drill/grind off the diamond grille. It took about two days to spray as they needed about 4 coats with lots of drying in between. I replaced it with some ordinary mesh. Then added some new architrave and sheers. Done ✅
DAY 20 of my reno tips ➡️ What’s important?
To know your order of trades (you’ll learn this fast because after the first room is done, each room is pretty much done in the same order). CLICK THROUGH for tips
DAY 19 of my reno tips ➡️ Dos and don’ts in the bathroom
Bathrooms are so rewarding when renovated. Taking a 1970s style into the modern day is such a huge transformation. DO... Install a new shower screen Add tiles all the way to the ceiling Maximise storage options (like a mirror cabinet) Buy products that comply with Australian standards Install new lighting DON’T... Change the plumbing layout if possible Add bath/shower combo (unless you are really pushed for space) Pick obscure tiles Overcapitalise
DAY 18 of my reno tips ➡️ Caulking
I actually enjoy this job haha! But there’s always a lot of it when you’re renovating! It’s gapping things, using silicone, sealing stuff up. It never ends.
