The Diary of a Worm by Doreen Cronin. This is a great book that even older students will love with some of the great humor that is in it. It can be used as an introductory to writing a journal. The worm tells about his day no matter what silly thing it is. It shows the kids that they should keep track of their own life and it is also a good book to make predictions as to what will happen next!
• PICTURE STORY BOOK- Farmer Duck by Martin Waddell. A duck does all of the yard work for a lazy farmer. The animals get together to run off the farmer. This story tells about teamwork and problem solving. Would be good to teach this to upper elementary.
