I am still working on this piece but I wanted to show you the flowers that I have been illustrating for the creative art challenge that I am co-hosting with @lorisiebert.studio and @j.brewsterart for #rainbowflowers2023 using this weeks colours blue, periwinkle and purple. I have a real mixture of flowers in this illustration. So far I have some Irises, violets, a dahlia, some sky flowers, sweet peas and a anemone. Once I finish this floral illustration I will start another one and choose some

Looking at two pages of hand drawn flower illustrations next to each other seeing how they flow and work week next to each other. Even though these pieces were drawn on separate pages I always find it interesting how they can go together because the colour palette and the same medium is able to tie them together. Just something to think about if you are wanting to create a series of paintings or illustrations that will work together as a collection. I will now be moving onto new colours fo

Ending off the week by working on 3 different paintings which I had started last year. It was good to hit pause the last few days so that I could close off some work flows, loops and tasks that I have been in progress and plan I g for a few months. Week 4 #rainbowflowers2023 Native Flowers illustration using colours Tan, Black & White in various shades and hues. I was just testing out some of these watercolour markers to see how they look as I don’t normally use these colours in my art. It is probably the only photo in my whole feed with these earthy colours. Week 4 - May Art Challenge The colour palette for Rainbow of Flowers this week is Black, White & Tan Swipe across to see the suggested flowers and also the colours I don’t often use browns and tan colours in my art so this will be interesting and also a step into the unknown for me, and I might even be surprised at the pieces I create.
