Dick Button (US) was the first skater to complete the triple Axel and also the first skater to complete a triple jump, the triple loop. He also invented the flying camel spin. He won the gold medal in the Olympics in 1948 and 1952, won the world championships every year between 1948 and 1952 and won the US championships every year between 1946 and 1952. After retiring from skating he went to law school and became a lawyer. He was a well-known figure skating commentator in his later years.
