Art project for Grade 3 and up. It is able to be done with the younger students... you just need more supervision. :) This is MY favourite Valentine's Day activity. You will need black pencil crayon and coloured felts. At the end, a little bit of tempera paint. Your students will have a self-portrait of themselves blowing hearts. The Wind of Love awakens. Thought my elementary teacher friends would like this! Jitter Glitter: Hand out this poem & a packet of glitter at open house for children to use the night before the first day of school.

Mixed Media Self Portrait. These were awesome.  Little kids did the backgrounds, came up with words that described them and added it on top on canvas boards.  Big wow factor for the parents.    What an awesome idea!!
