Going Viral Exhibition Presenting an exhibition of disease to the general public is a tricky brief. In order to communicate the rich variety and history of these maladies, and how it has impacted upon Melbourne, a more lateral approach was taken. Each disease has been represented by a lampshade within the space, using the metaphor of light to express the information in a positive way. The windows featured a circular ring of light (courtesy of a simple fluorescent ring).

Kuzman Architecture Designed as both a web navigation system and a corporate identity, the typography for Kuzman Architecture is fittingly bold yet elegant. For the client, it offered a very distinct presence, capitalising on the unique (almost architectural) combination of letters in her surname.

Dr. Dwyer Playing upon the symmetry of the well-known Rorscharch test, the identity mirrors the client’s name (Dwyer) omitting the letters w, y and e (coincidentally pronounced as why), leaving his title (Dr). The result is unique to the client and intriguing to the viewer. This identity shows the power of observation – that design is often about seeing the familiar in a new way. It also shows that some clients are brave enough to push the conceptual basis of an identity system.

Nick Gadd Communications An identity exploring the multiplicity of writing – the internal meaning of words as well as their more explicit external form. The double bowl ‘g’ echoes a rich visual tradition of writers – the vintage typewriter.
