take two to three pieces of material perfectly see through. Hang from the ceiling and make it drape down to create a tent like scene. The just throw in pillows and soft place to set and let your child explore the wonders of books while using their imagination.
Here is a great open house idea that was shared with me by a one of my friends & FABULOUS teacher. Mrs. Salsedo, incorporated her year end math review with some flip & foldable fun, turning it into an engaging project. She provided each student with the criteria for the project, assigned them a chapter from the math book and let them “have at it”.
Another site/link rec. from Dr. Nickie "Angles is a 4th Grade Standard in the CCSS. Here is a great set of activities to have students do in their math journals. I (Dr. Nickie) really like it because it is interactive, engaging and standards-based. Check it out!Types of Angles math journal @ Runde's Room."
Time capsule for baby - make on the child's first birthday to open on their 18th (have friends/family bring notes/items to put in it as well) - what a great idea...the entire party theme on this site is very cool.
