Blue-winged Kookaburra (Dacelo leachii) is a large species of kingfisher native to northern Australia and southern New Guinea. Measuring around 16 inches, it is slightly smaller than the more familiar Laughing Kookaburra.
Echidnas are small mammals found only in Australia and New Guinea. They resemble other spiny animals like hedgehogs and porcupines, but they belong to the same family as the Platypus. Like the platypus, the echidna is also an egg laying mammal.
