Preserving native plants to help pollinators thrive - Lush
We love honey for its beautiful effects on the skin - but we only work with beekeepers that meet super high standards of care for bees. The Australian honey in Lush’s best selling face mask, Mask of Magnaminty, comes from local supplier Beechworth Honey. Their core beliefs are the preservation of natural habitats, building an environmentally responsible business and sourcing only 100% Australian honey.
Regenerative Patchouli - Lush
The patchouli in Good Karma Shower Gel comes from Sumatra, from a supplier who is demonstrating how to work with Permaculture principles to grow crops while also conserving primary rainforest. Their demonstration farm is in the buffer zone of the Leuser Ecosystem, where wild rhinos, elephants, and orangutans coexist in a rich, green environment. Our supplier is showcasing how Permaculture can teach us how to work in partnership with Nature, not against it.
Regenerative Cocoa Butter - LUSH
Rub to relax with Lush’s range of Massage Oil Bars and help pygmy hippo habitats! Lush’s Massage Oil Bars are all packaging-free and packed with fair-trade cocoa butter. Lush sources their cocoa butter from an organic supplier who’s investing to help restore the Gola rainforest (home of the pygmy hippo) by opening farmer field schools that teach regenerative agriculture and by supporting local farmers.
Regenerative Sea Salt - supporting bird biodiversity
Did you know that Lush’s Ocean Sea Salt Face and Body Scrub can help to boost biodiversity and reduce the unnecessary impacts to the aquatic ecosystem? Cleansing the skin with fine sea salt is an excellent way to benefit from its exfoliant, antimicrobial and astringent properties without stripping the natural oil. Lush sources its sea salt from suppliers in Croatia and Portugal that help to protect salt marshes and salt pans which play a pivotal role in the Earth’s ecosystem.
