This is a story about a bilbie. Bilbies are marsupials, about the size of a rabbit and like rabbits have large ears. They are found in Australia. They are endangered due to habitat destruction and competition for food with rabbits and livestock. Just look at that beautiful illustration!

Little Bilby is concerned as the full moon has begun to disappear and goes on a search for the missing piece, asking everyone she meets for their help, including Sand-dragon, Hopping Mouse and Boobook Owl. A large black ant accompanies Little Bilby on her quest through the rich coloured landscape of the desert.
