Falling Star #12: Johnny Hoogerland. Dutch rider Johnny Hoogerland was hit by a car of the french television in the Tour de France 2011. He crashed into barbed wire and was badly hurt. He needed 33 stitches to heal the wounds. Hoogerland finished the stage and got the polka dot jersey.

Falling Star #3: Fränk Schleck, Amsterdam Gold Race 2009. Schleck bumped into the wheel of Matthew Lloyd and was taken to hospital with a concussion. Schleck made a rapid recovery, winning his home race, the Tour de Luxembourg, in June 2009.

Falling Star #07: Wim van Est schreef historie met zijn val in de de 13e etappe van de Tour de France. Rijdend in de gele trui valt van Est in een diep ravijn in de afdaling va de Aubisque. Met aan elkaar geknoopte fietsbanden wordt hij omhoog getrokken. "Zeventig meter viel ik diep. M'n hart stond stil maar mijn Pontiac liep!" Van Est won later in z'n carrière nog twee maal een etappe.

Hij pakte veertig seconden op de streep en zou de Tour met een minuut voorsprong winnen.
