Started by a group of experimental artists, intellectuals, poets and philosophers drawn together by a shared passion for food and art, members seek to subvert conventional ideas of what food and art should be whilst at all times seeking to create incredible art. Their overarching philosophy may be summed up in their motto: “We Art what we Eat”. The current members of the EAM create participatory installations, experiences and events designed to stimulate all five senses.
Cibo is an open project reflecting upon the intersections between art and food. We intend cooking as one of the most creative way to make art, where, beyond the usual senses, mouth and taste lead instinctively to the process of creation. We like to approach this dedicated way of cooking as an alchemical quest, a performing act, the achievement of a full belly and the fundamental link for a community.
With Food in Mind is cultivating future generations of art enthusiasts and healthier eaters, too. We do this through drop-in workshops, afterschool classes, and other educational programs for youth that provide equal parts art and food education
Zagreus Projekt functions as a gallery and gastronomic space. The chef, gallery owner and curator Ulrich Krauss organizes exhibitions in relation to food or gastronomic concepts. In a cycle of two months, artists are invited to create an artistic concept for the space. From the time they enter to the time they leave, guests are an active part of the orchestration of the work of art, becoming actors as opposed to simple spectators.
Entretempo Kitchen Gallery is an interdisciplinary art space aiming to research and explore food in a cultural and social context. Art becomes an extension of the kitchen – and food a common base for expressing and sharing thoughts and ideas. Entretempo was conceived by the artist and cook Tainá Guedes and explores the political and social impact of food as a manifestation of History, sociology, geography, science, philosophy and communication.
