Carlton Football Club

The Carlton Football Club was formed in July 1864. It won four premierships for the Challenge Cup from 1871 to 1875. Carlton joined the breakaway Victorian Football League in 1897 and were three times premiers in 1906, 1907 and 1908, and two times in 1914 and 1915. In total Carlton have been premiers 16 times in VFL/AFL history, perhaps most famously in 1947 when they won by one point, and 1970 when they came from 44 points down at half time watched by 121,696 spectators.
