Great resource with a range of different activities - the one pictured would be beneficial in helping students make links between the names of the states and their location on a map of Australia. Sparks the idea of students playing a memory card game, matching the names of states with their location on a map of Australia as a possible early finishers activity.

Free printables of each state- these could be used in order to understand Australia at a state level, or used with the map of the world/continents to visualise our connection with people in other states.

Visual way for students to understand that they are part of a wider community and geographical area. Students could draw pictures or include photos on each card.

This Australian Passport Template sparked an idea in my head that students could learn about different significant places in Australia and receive a stamp/sticker in their passport for 'travelling' to that location. Really engaging and exciting for students in learning about Australia.
