The old traditional method of panning for  gold in streams and rivers and different places of Australia in the gold rush times, some places were Bendigo, Ballarat in victoria, Australia. People still pan for gold now and the odd nugget is still found.

Bendigo Pottery is one of Australia’s best known potteries but an aspect of its history has been neglected. Majolica wares were popular in Western Europe in the late 19th century. It was produced by a few Australian colonial potteries. However the finest quality and quantity were produced by the Bendigo Pottery from 1879 to 1911. Bendigo Pottery regularly won medals and certificates for its pottery internationally.

Established in Bendigo Art Gallery is one of the oldest and largest regional galleries in Australia.
