Im currently sitting next to my Dad while he gets dialysis and today instead of reading or surfing the Net while he snoozes I pulled out my trusty @winsorandnewton travel paint palette and did a spot of painting practice. Feels good to have a paintbrush in hand even if its tiny and Im in hospital surrounded by beeping machines. Dad seems to think its OK too
Our first ever Birthday Party is happening this September celebrating 5 colourful creative sociable years of our monthly crafty workshops! This street art is from the town where I went to school and features the church where my parents got married the sheep sculpture where I used to work and even the fells I walked this morning. It also nods to the statues and monuments climbed by drunk revellers each Christmas and some of the lovely architecture throughout the town including William Wordsworths terracotta home and the multi-coloured terraced houses off the Main Street. . Today I used some of the things I made when I was going to pottery classes and it made me want to get my mitts in some clay again! I gifted one of these dotty plates to a friend but kept the little sugar bowl and spoon- I actually had a huge thing about indigo pottery glaze at the time.
