L1M2AS1 Breakfast shoot 4 ISO200 200mm f/5.6 1/1600th sec. Focus on the egg! I've done four shoots in search of a deep dof. I have examples of each across ALL of the images I have taken, but wanted to get them in the same shoot to submit images that suit one another rather than cherry-picking.
L1M2AS1 Breakfast shoot 4 ISO200 135mm f/22 1/250th sec Nikon D90. Deep dof I hope - I don't think I have it in me to shoot another breakfast. I know zooming in compromises the depth of the field but I wanted the objects to really be the focus of the shot.
L1M2AS1 Breakfast shoot 4 ISO800 (to get shutter speed up for handheld shooting in available light) 18mm f/22 1/250th sec I have had trouble to get a true deep depth of field. This image is cropped to focus on the objects but i didn;t want to get too close to compromise my deep dof.
L1M2AS1 Still Life Breakfast. ISO200 16mm f/3.5 1/40th sec Nikon D7100. Sooo... I decided to simplify. Here is an egg. :) I like that the pattern of the placemat emphasised the dof. Spot healing used on egg blemish. Tripod with 2s timer.
L1M2AS1 Still Life Breakfast ISO200 20mm f/3.5 1/13th sec Nikon D7100 Tripod w 2sec timer. Shallow dof, colours muted to blend in with the brown of the teapot and bowl. Focal point on the egg and rim of bowl on the right. Side note: Would you prefer images in the assignment to be from the dame shoot, or can i pick and choose from my 3 attempts. There's an egg in each of them - they're kind of thematicall :P)
L1M2AS1 Breakfast Still Life ISO200 10mm f/22 2.5sec Nikon D7100. Tripod with 2s timer. Trying for a deep depth of field, (but i'm closer than before) shooting down to get rid of annoying background elements. Tried to simplify things, went with a circular theme. Again had trouble with the crop, distractions in the top corners.
L1M2AS1 Still Life Breakfast ISO200 20mm f/22 2.0sec Nikon 7100. Deep depth of field? Argh. I've had trouble with this. Apparently i'm great at shallow but a slow learner at deep. Tripod was above the meal but not quite centred, so I've Lens corrected in Lr. 2s timer. It's also an odd shape because the tripod legs were in the shot and i had to crop in to get this shot. Influenced a lot by food and still-life photographer Vanessa Rees (Seriously, check her out, fellow students!)
