Splitleaf Philodendron (philodendron bipinnatifidum): This appears to be a splitleaf, a large tropical plant that makes an excellent 10' specimen plant where it is hardy outdoors and a fine houseplant elsewhere. Indoors, provide bright indirect light and regular water (about weekly) but do not allow plant to sit in water as this leads to root rot. Outdoors where there is no winter frost, does well in shaded areas.
Orchid Tree (bauhinia species): This plant is a wonderful tree that does well in mild winter regions called orchid tree for its orchid-like flowers. Depending on the species or cultivar, the trees will bear white, pink, or purple orchid-like blossoms followed by long pods. Needs full sun and regular water during growth and bloom cycles. Blooms primarily from spring to late fall. Thin for shape and crowded growth after bloom cycle.
