Miss Rachael's latest project, a Retro Butterick pattern B5880 from 1951. Rachael was inspired to make this design to wear in fashions on the field at the races. This week I had a dinner to attend, sew I made myself a new dress. My pattern choice was Vogue 1348. Adding the lace overlay required more thought, as I wanted it to be seperate to the under fabric in the skirt, I am very pleased with the end result. #vogue1348 #sewhappy #ilovesewing #notsewhard

Miss D is one of my younger students, her enthusiasm for sewing is beyond words, especially for someone sew young. This is her first project, a gorgeous A-line style dress, with a yoke, and ties at the back. A few techniques in this project, from under stitching, to bias as a facing and even the addition of an embellishment. Ms D is a new student to #notsewhard and finds sewing exciting but struggles with finishing some projects as reading bought patterns is like reading a foreign language. Her first project was #simplicitypattern1417 using a Mechanical Stretch fabric. Ms D incorporated many new techniques into her first project, which she mastered quickly. Well done Ms D, I'm #sewproud of your first project!! #learntosew #itsnotsewhardtosewfabulous
