Alleen Op De Wereld/Sans Famille/Nobody's Boy, by Hector Malot was given to me at birth and read to me several times over as a bedtime story. George van Raemdonk illustrated the edition that I was given and as a toddler, I 'coloured in' (scribbled on) his pictures. 60 years later, I 'coloured them in" again, but using oil paint on canvas.
