#paradewine Shingleback. McLaren Vale Haycutters Salmon Rosé 2014. Ahh, pretty colour with a fine, gently sweet feel. Some stickiness in texture, but the wine finishes lemony, perky and refreshing. Simple stuff, but done very well and the fruit is left mostly to its own devices while offering a good, clean, sweet hit. Fit for purpose. 11.5% #parade #norwood #adelaide #wine #southaustralia #winedesign

#paradewine Wicks Estate. Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc 2014. That whole expression ‘as pure as the driven snow’ might not be particularly Australian, climate considerations and all, but the idea of something untouched and clean certainly rattles around my head as this is tasted. Crisp fruits, brisk acidity, refreshing and cool in personality. It’s a delicious expression, simply done. 12.5%#parade #norwood #adelaide #wine #southaustralia #winedesign

#paradewine Paracombe. Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir Chardonnay Sparkling 2013. Sparkling wine in Australia is being done very well by many now, and great to see more and more coming to the fray. This stonefruit and bakery goods-scented wine shows frisky bead, some creaminess to texture, long flavour, saline finish. Refreshing and with some complexity. 12.5% #parade #norwood #adelaide #wine #southaustralia #winedesign

#paradewine Mitolo. McLaren Vale Sagrantino 2012. It’s not like sagrantino is going to shake the foundations of Australian wine, but done well, like here, it sure shows interest and drinkability. This is spicy, full-bodied and firm in texture. A growling, deep wine of structure and bold tannin. Big-red lovers apply here. 14.5% #parade #norwood #adelaide #wine #southaustralia #winedesign

#paradewine Tim Smith Wines. Barossa Valley Mataro Grenache Shiraz 2013. Tim Smith is a dab hand with his assortment of old vine vineyards, eking out wines of layered fruit, fine structure and length of flavour. This MGS is simply delicious. There’s loads of personality to the rich but not overly full-on fruit and the wine is dusted with clove-like spice. Pitch-perfect for the blend and easy appreciation. 14.5% #parade #norwood #adelaide #wine #southaustralia #winedesign

#paradewine Hahndorf Hill Winery. Adelaide Hills GRU Grüner Veltliner 2014. One of the most accurate and enticing Australian Grüners, this is a classic expression of the variety, falling neatly between its hallmark characters of lime zest, custard apple and pepper. #paradewine Hollick. Coonawarra Ravenswood Cabernet Sauvignon 2010. A formidable wine that speaks with a thickness, richness and fluidity, but still shows how a great winemaker (and fruit!) can find balance when working up a muscular wine as this. Deep black fruits with nougat and warm cedar scents, while similar plays out in the mouth. Great length too – often the first mark of an exceptional wine. Cellar long, too. 14.5% #parade #norwood #adelaide #wine #southaustralia #winedesign
