This staircase is part of the ruins of a Spanish style castle built into the rainforest near Innisfail an hour south of Cairns. Way back when my Grandmother worked here cooking for Mrs Paronella when they had functions. Local legend has it when Jose built this place each day the workers would come in and he would draw plans of what he wanted them to do in the sand. In it's prime this was a magnificent and opulent place. Now still beautiful as the ruins are preserved.
Daintree Rainforest is one of Australia’s most popular destinations. Home to unfathomable biodiversity in a relatively diminutive portion of the country’s landmass, Daintree is a haven of ecotourism. North of Cairns in tropical Far North Queensland, Daintree's myriad endemic wildlife is the result of more than 150 million years of evolution.
