Dr Elena M Morreale DC - The lymphatic system is a defense mechanism against infection, viruses, bacteria and disease. The lymphatic system is responsible for bringing nutrients to as well as wastes away from cells. Organs that contain lymphoid tissue include the lymph nodes, spleen and thymus. When the lymph nodes become clogged, it cannot release toxins from the body so toxins stay trapped and reabsorb back into the blood stream. Lymphatic system is a key element of the red bone marrow. Hodgkin's disease is a rare lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system. Lymphatic obstruction is a condition of localized fluid retention and tissue swelling caused by a compromised lymphatic system. Lymph fluid is filled with white blood cells, which is part of the immune system and help the body fight infection. Lymph vessels in the lining of the gastrointestinal tract absorb fats from food. A malfunction of this part of the lymphatic system can result in serious malnutrition. Lymphatic fluid - becomes stagnant in the interstitial tissue it will cause swelling of the lymph nodes, spleen and liver. Lymphatic system is one of the most common avenues for the spread of cancer cells throughout the body. Stagnation of the Lymphatic system causes Inflammatory and auto-immune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. The lymphatic system is not connected to the heart, therefore it has to rely on a subluxation free spine so the occiput and sacrum move properly to pump the CSF and lymph, a balanced diet, healthy lifestyle and activity to create the necessary "pumping action" it needs to circulate and stay healthy. Can a healthy lymphatic system prevent and improve the chance of survival from disease? What are you doing to keep your lymphatic system healthy? | Facebook
