Morrari, around 1964
One of the more bizarre saloon cars to race in New Zealand was the Morrari – a Morris Minor body stretched over a Ferrari chassis and powered by a 327-cubic-inch (5.36-litre) V8 Corvette engine. It is shown here driven by Garth Souness and heading off an Anglia at Pukekohe raceway during the 1964–65 race season. In 2011 two Auckland enthusiasts began to build a new version of this car.
