Rue de Veneuil, Paris by Reg Mombassa I sat on the pavement just up the street from our hotel and drew this one before the morning crowd started rushing about. Yet another recycling of the Parisian street scenes instigated by the Impressionists and repeated by generations of simulators, including myself.
House on The River, Lyon by Reg Mombassa I drew this picture while sitting in a restaurant on the banks of the river at Montrechet after attending the opening of the Biennale. The house had the appealing toy-like presence of a mythical cottage in the woods.
Bridge on the Seine by Reg Mombassa This is a view of a stone bridge on the Seine a couple of blocks from where we were staying. The cheesy tranquillity of the river and the iconic structures dotting its banks give no hint of the various slaughters that have occurred in its vicinity throughout the life of the city. Many swimming pools full of blood have dripped into this pretty waterway.
Cité d’internationale by Reg Mombassa A couple of blocks from the apartment where we stayed in Lyon is a large and beautiful park of several hundred hectares called Cite d’internationale. The park has a decent sized Lake with paddle boats and canoes for hire, numerous ponds and several enormous greenhouses full of exotic tropical plants. Deer roam freely about the grounds and there is an enclosed zoo containing monkeys, apes giraffes and elephants.

Corner tower of the Louvre by Reg Mombassa We stayed in a small hotel situated on the left bank of the Seine a couple of blocks from the Louvre, so I did quite a few drawings of the building from across the river and from the interior courtyard.
