Life in First Grade: Classroom Decorating Day See it Sort it Pocket Chart Center. I think this would be an awesome center for those who finish quickly. I would send them over there and tell them to make some words using this week& vowel sound.

Form time activity. Maybe get the students to think of a number and then swap with a neighbour and get them to peer assess. Always try and use a different maths activity in form time.

Just like word of the day. This allows students to work their math skills. number of the day work Saw a wonderful teacher do this every morning and it was awesome. She just added the whole class together finger spelling it in the air.
