Samovar Tea Lounge, Hayes Valley, San Francisco. Lovely feel, small place, only one restroom, across from the Zen Center. It's a more intimate ambience than the Yerba Buena Gardens location (which I also love for the view). Been there at least 3x, last visit January 2012.
Target is still a ways away, but La Boulange opened yesterday in the “new” Metreon. Coming on the heels of the one at California and Montgomery (opened in January), it’s the 12th location in San Francisco proper of Pascal Rigo’s wildly successful bakery and cafe. As you can see, this one has a good amount of outdoor seating, looking out on to the Yerba Buena Gardens. Appropriately, they’re dubbing this one La Boulange de Yerba Buena.
The Tassajara Zen Mountain Center in California was a dream for some of us living in a ragtag ashram on the East Coast. It had all the romance of wild mountains and hot springs, plus a strong backing from its organization in San Francisco.
B Restaurant & Bar A contemporary bar and restaurant that sits atop Yerba Buena Gardens and opens its doors to an outdoor terrace overlooking the gardens and waterfalls at Yerba Buena with panoramic views of of the San Francisco skyline
