Spicebush Swallowtail Caterpillar - When the larvae are nearly ready to pupate, they turn a yellow-green color marked by two large black dots with a white highlight. The placement of these dots creates the illusion that the caterpillars are common green snakes which help the caterpillars to ward off predators, specifically birds. (image credit Jay Cossey)
One of the Pennsylvania Railroad's experimental T1 steam locomotives passed through Union Terminal at least twice. Tested from 1946 to 1952, the 50 locomotives built proved difficult to operate effectively, despite their ability to run at speeds of 100 mph or more.
