Firebush is a coffee relative that has red tubular flowers for all but the coldest months and berries that go from yellow, to orange, to red and finally black. Hummingbirds and butterflies visit the flowers. The berries are edible yet not very tasty and the nectar is sweet when sucked from the flower.
Plant a Climbing Vine Grow a golden hop vine for its gold-lime foliage, dangling flower clusters, and ability to climb 20 feet in a season. Let it tumble over an arbor or trellis.
