The lovely JoAnne from my second #paintfearlessmexico retreat took this action shot of me teaching ! I was sharing how I use my favorite tools for sketching from life (that's the Ms @lisasonora I am capturing). What's more important to me is not "getting it right or perfect" but rather honoring the essence of what I see & making an image that feels whole rather than fishing & fidgeting for something I can say is finished or complete. I think that's both the curse & beauty of being an artist…

I'm learning a lot about what it means to be an artist on this trip and for the first time in what feels like an eternity I'm feeling inspired. Art and the evidence of it are everywhere here---from the advertisements for the theatre in the tube station to the street art in random corners to the photographs hanging in the local coffee shops. The U.K. is filled with signs of the artists. On top of being surrounded by so much evidence of art I'm reading two books that are wrecking my…

“Different cultures of the world do inspire me, especially in terms of colors and patterns. I love art, I love music, I love movies, and everything plays into my work. In terms of being specifically from Nepal, what inspires me is the concept of craftsmanship and value. As an artist, it’s hard for me to value things—how do I put a monetary value on something that I’ve made, that I’ve put my heart and soul into? That makes me think about the world, and how the concept of value is totally…

"Black Ice" "Black Ice" created this morning as I had been walking around an environment centre that's local to myself. I'm really lucky to have such a place in my vicinity it spawns untold inspiration in me. I only ask you one thing to take a few moments to really let this scene encapsulate you (if it floats your boat that is...). Thanks & much love - - - - #inspiration #artist #illustrator #photoshop #art #artwork #photooftheday #interiordesign #illustration #decor #instahome…

"You cannot RUN from yourself." -Bob Marley- I have to confess. I've been running from myself. Running from myself that loves capturing each moment of life in a single still image... with the silly excuse of "I'm a busy man!" That excuse stops here and it stops now for one cannot run from himself forever. This is the other me : @photos.by.mrmo . Actually this is the FULL me: Artist by Day Photographer by Night. Follow me on this journey as I capture Life in a single still image and…

I love being a kid. I like being cut from a different fabric. I love being unfiltered. I love the complexity of the world around me & how I find it interesting & not scary. I love being something that I wasn’t suppose to be. I love wearing the same pants for 2 weeks. I love having split personalities & taste. I love music & making videos of the weird shit I do. I love that just being myself I stick out and get looked at differently. I love not having any reference of time or day. I love…

I wanted to give you a peek into the world that inspires me. Although there are many other artists who inspire me, Alexander Calder has been on my list of inspiring artists the longest I love the elegant simplicity of his work and hope to achieve a little of that elegance in my own work. Here is a link if you would like to learn more about this man and his work: http://www.calder.org/work/by-category/hanging-mobile

Of course I want to participate in the #leighsidemittskal2017 hosted by the lovely @leighsideknits We are knitting mittens inspired by an artist or an art movement. I have chosen to knit @dodergok s pattern #bäckarbomittens and the artist that inspires me is Elsa Beskow who is a swedish artist that lived 1874-1953. She wrote and illustrated many beautiful books for children. This picture shows Tomtebobarnen in the winter, it is a book about a family living in the woods and I adore it for…
