In a medium non-reactive saucepan, combine vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar, crushed red pepper, salt, and black pepper. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes. Transfer to a glass bowl; cool completely. Serve with desired meat.**
Traditional North Carolina BBQ Sauce 1 C white vinegar, 1 C cider vinegar, 1 Tbs. sugar, 2 fresh cayenne peppers split, 1 Tbs. Tabasco sauce, 1 tsp. kosher salt,1 tsp. cracked black pepper.
