The Amsterdam-Rhine Canal is a canal in the Netherlands, between the cities of Amsterdam and Tiel. It connects the port of Amsterdam with the Ruhr (Germany) and is the busiest canal in the world. The canal is 72 kilometers long, 100 to 270 meters wide and 15 meters deep. In 1931 was established by law that the channel had to get there. The crisis and the Second World War delayed the construction, however. Only on May 21, 1952 the canal was opened. This is what we saw during our Bicycle tours…
