Three Heads Brewing Rochestafarian is a 7 ABV Scotch Ale / Wee Heavy. The appearance is dark ruby and the nose a light sweet caramel. The palate is sweet toffee and caramel malts finishing bittersweet with a zesty carbonation and some mild dark fruit notes. 7% is fairly low for a Scotch Ale but the alcohol is very present. This variety is dominated by some amazing standouts so while this is decent it falls well short of those heavy hitters. Nonetheless I appreciate 3HB as a fairly…

BrewChief.com Review of Premium Verum (Warsteiner Brauerei) : When it comes to pilsners, I really only have a couple of requirements that need to be met in order for me to be satisfied. If you can give me a couple of good flavors, zero off flavors, a nice mouthfeel, and an overall sense of refreshment, I'm pretty much sold. And is easy as that may sound, you would be amazed at how many breweries find a way to screw it up. So when one manages to make even a respectable pilsner offering...

Spaten Dunkel is a Munich Dunkel Lager out of Munchen (Munich) Germany. This is an import from Spaten-Franziskaner-Brau (InBev). The color is dark red with a slight head. This gives off a malty bready nose with some herbal notes. The taste could stand to be a bit more complex and deep, but the malty and bready notes are nice. The bitter hops come out at the back end and it finishes dry and pleasant. Nothing fancy here, just a classic lager, easy to drink and enjoy.
