When he began in television’s infancy, back in 1950, Hope said he got into the new medium “...because the contract was so delicious, I couldn’t turn it down.”

Army SPC Cameron K. Payne, 22, of Corona, California. Died June 11, 2007, serving during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Assigned to 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas. Died in Balad, Salah ad Din Province, Iraq,of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations in Baghdad, Iraq.
