Milangil, Kariah (178kms W of Melbourne), an off-shoot of Koort Koort Nong, was acquired in 1901 by W.T. Manifold, son of first generation settler John Manifold. A cottage and stables were built in 1910 and in 1913 a homestead and large woolshed, designed by architect W.P. Knights, were erected for W.T's son John. The homestead is a large house of rendered brick in Federation/Edwardian style with strong arts and crafts influences. It has remained in the hands of the Manifold family.
