Paint your base color. Then use blue painters tape to create zebra stripes. Tear the tape randomly to look like stripes. Paint your last color. After almost dry pull tape off and spray with clear. I even used a can of silver glitter to add a little sparkle. $10 project to change the look of a shelf I've had for 20 years.
