The Tower of London, one of the most famous and well-preserved historical buildings in the world, may also be one of the most haunted. This is due, no doubt, to the scores of executions, murders and tortures that have taken place within its walls over the last 1,000 years. Dozens upon dozens of ghost sightings have been reported in and around the Tower.
We all know that 3D printers have taken over the design world but how about the food world? Well Burritobot might just do that. It’s a 3D printer that prepares burritos that you can actually eat. Say, what?! What originally began as a master’s thesis project for Marko Manriquez has now turned into a full-on 3D printer prototype that I desperately need in my home.
“The Bird Girl”, as this icon is known locally in Savannah, GA, is a 1936 bronze sculpture by Sylvia Shaw Hudson and once serenely presided over a private family plot in the city’s historic Bonaventure Cemetery. It is now installed at the Telfair Museum of Art. This move was necessitated after her photograph was featured on the cover of the bestselling book, Midnight in The Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt in 1993, after which time her notoriety soared as a landmark.
Honauna Beach is home to the famed City of Refuge, an underwater paradise favorite among divers. Years ago volcano eruptions poured lava into the ocean, eventually hardening into smooth formations that are now home to an expansive reef. Divers can swim with over 40% of Hawaii’s native fish, colorful coral and even the endangered green sea turtle.
