This is exactly the kind of sink my grandmother had. Under the curtain was pure clean ice cold water from the well and an old dipping pan hanging on a nail for a quick drink in the hot summer :O)

This plain wooden sofa reminds me of the one my great grandmother had in the kitchen of her little Australian miner's cottage. It was painted turquoise & butted up to a little window on the right side of her wood fueled stove. On the left side of the chimney, butted up to an even smaller window, was the kitchen sink & a little spice cabinet next to the window. A clock with an ornate pressed wood frame also painted turquoise sat on the over mantle. Wow! Amazed I can remember it so clearly.
