Based on original 17th-century furniture from the Château de Chenonceau, all the canopy beds were crafted by a local upholsterer. A Kittinger reproduction bench from Buffalo, New York, was re-covered in a Madeleine Castaing fabric. Christie had this Oriental rug in his student days at Harvard, and it has moved with him ever since. The wallhanging is a rare piece of circa-1680 French silk lampas.
