Henry Ford had this estate in Dearborn which is open for tours. The gardens are a special treat. Also in nearby Grosse Pointe Shores is the Eleanor and Edsel Ford Home which is to me a grander home on Lake St. Clair. Another must see home; I love to visit in the spring and also for the holiday decorations. Henry Ford Estate, Dearborn.
Edsel and Eleanor Ford House | Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan | An American Treasure, the house was designed by Albert Kahn to resemble a cluster of Cotswold village cottages, complete with stone roofs, vine-covered walls and lead-paned windows. Strolling through the thoughtfully decorated halls, visitors come face-to-face with a stunningly diverse collection of art, antiques and furniture that reveal the Ford's progressive and educated tastes in art and design.
