This website provides several activities that can be used for President's day in a first grade classroom. Start the lesson with a read aloud to introduce the idea of Presidents, and continue with watching a Brain Pop on George Washington. The students created a graphic organizer and a picture of him.

This project includes art (paper self-portrait), fine motor skills (cutting red strips for flag), math (counting fingerprint "stars"), AND language skills all wrapped up in a social studies lesson. GENIUS!
