Krause Springs is a well-known camping & swimming site located in the beautiful Hill Country of Texas. It is located in Spicewood, Texas approximately 30 miles west of Austin. There are 32 springs on the property, and several feed the manmade pool and the natural pool which flows into Lake Travis. There is primitive tent camping as well as 24 RV sites with water and electricity available.
Hamilton Pool is approximately 30 miles southwest of Austin. Take Highway 71 west of Austin through the town of Bee Cave and turn left onto FM 3238 (Hamilton Pool Road). Travel 13 miles to the Preserve entrance, on your right.
Blue Hole | Flickr. Blue Hole in Leakey, Texas -You can only get to this Blue Hole by staying overnight at Running River Ranch, then hike or ride your mountain bike about a mile to it, take a steep set of stair down and traverse the stream several yards....whew! It is worth it!
