I spent a summer in one of these at a church camp in PA, except it had no screens or door- just open to the air and woods. A bad storm blew over our mountain one night and all the campers ended up in the same bunk as thunder crashed all night around us. Most frightening and exciting night of my life.
The FernHouse....The structure is only big enough for a full size futon on a hanging frame, the roof is clear corrugated polycarbonate with wide overhangs and the walls are 2 x 4 studs wrapped with insect screen. bracing is minimal. The entire project took about forty hours and $700 or $800 bucks a few years ago.
