Turnagain Arm, Alaska The best part about the incredible Turnagain Arm is that it's so easily accessible to the largest most populated city in Alaska. From Anchorage heading towards Seward you will see huge snow-capped mountains in Chugach State Park, mudflats that are many miles wide & endless scenic wonders. Dall sheep & brown bears are often spotted alongside the road, bald eagles can be found soaring high in the sky, pull into Beluga Point & don't be surprised to see a beluga whale.
Brooks Falls Photograph by Michael Melford Although brown bears are normally solitary creatures, they congregate at places like Brooks Falls in the summer to catch and eat spawning salmon. From the National Geographic book Hidden Alaska
The aesthetics that please me from this image are all about the art of the image. Because I'm an animator I care about these things. All the things like the composition, lighting and even the colour palette all stand out to me and make me feel enticed by the image.
