A food preparation technique used quite often in Germany is the quantity of condiments and spices. Germans prefer their food to be prepared quite bland and not spicy, so with minimal spices. They do make exceptions for a bit of herbs such as basil and parsley. Cinnamon is a special treat used mostly during festivals. Although one thing that the Germans can't resist is their mustard. Since sausages are so common and famous in Germany, they love to accompany it with some mustard.
