Form Tea Set A self-taught designer with a notably offbeat approach to the practice, Tom Dixon came to design thirty years ago when his innate desire to repair his broken motorcycle led serendipitously to his discovery of the joys of welding. In the 1980s, Dixon lent his newly realized talents to Italian manufacturing giant Cappellini where he rose to prominence by creating unusual and whimsical furniture, including his iconic S Chair, a work in MoMA's collection.
Tom Dixon collaborated with design collective FRONT to create MELT, a new distorted globe light made from blown-glass. Translucent when on and mirror-finish when off, it emits an attractive, mildly hallucinogenic light. Hang as a standalone statement pendant or a few together to create a striking centre-piece for any room. Available in copper, chrome and gold.
