Piazza dell' Anfiteatro, on the footprint of the ancient Roman amphitheater, Lucca, Tuscany, Italy

Devil's Bridge, Lucca, Italy. Ponte della Maddalena (Italian: "Bridge of Mary Magdalene") is a bridge crossing the Serchio river near the town of Borgo a Mozzano in the Italian province of Lucca. One of numerous medieval bridges known as Ponte del Diavolo, the "Bridge of the Devil", it was a vital river crossing on the Via Francigena, an early medieval road to Rome for those coming from France that was an important medieval pilgrimage route.

Lovely Lucca ~ is a precious pearl of a city and one of those Tuscan towns in Italy. Perfectly hidden behind renaissance walls *

All rounded Tuscany

The Guinigi Tower in Lucca, Italy, constructed in the 1300s. The seven oak trees planted on top are thought to be hundreds of years old. #Towers #Renaissance
