Half-Timbered House in Riquewihr / Alsace / Haut-Rhin, France. Riquewihr is one of the most famous villages in the region, and probably the most visited. Its location among the vineyards gives it a charm. The village of course has numerous timbered houses, beautifully highlighted and flowers, and the ramparts, well preserved, surround this pearl of the vineyard.
Riquewihr is one of the crown jewels of the Alsace Region in France. One of the few towns not be greatly damaged in World War II, it still retains its original medieval charm and was the inspiration for the "village" in Beauty and the Beast.
